We've MOVED!

Well the booth has moved anyway.  The Twice Nice booth at the Brass Armadillo has moved to Utah Avenue, booth 43.  It's where you will find the American Paint Company paints/finishes, and some furniture pieces, and some other cool things I find along the way.  All I have are lousy cell phone photos, but what the hey, I'll show you anyway.

We started with dingy brown walls first thing this morning.  2 hours later we had this.
A nice start.  We placed 2 large book page panels on both ends.  That was a fun project.
Bleh picture!  We made it this far before we decided to call it quits for the day.  Here are some equally awful pictures for you to look at our progress.
Admit it, I make you feel better about your photography skills.  Is it the iPhone or is it me?  I'll need a new phone to know won't I?

Anyway, lots more things to take down for the walls, and a desk to float in the middle and fun, fun, fun!  Stop by and see the booth local folks!  Pick up some paint and find your future project right there in the mall.  Wouldn't the legs on the Gate leg table look great painted?!

If it seems quiet over here, find the Facebook button on my sidebar and visit me there.  I'm getting the hang of it and posting there more frequently.  I can also be found on Instagram.  I KNOW, shocking huh?  Just started over there and I hope to remember to use it frequently ;-).

Have a great weekend!

I shall call her Pumpkin

A fellow American Paint Company Retailer shared her 'recipe' for making a burnt orange color on our  Facebook page a week or two ago.  I mixed it up last week and brushed it on a dresser.  Tell me what you think of Pumpkin!
I'm rather smitten with her if I dare say so.  I think I am looking forward to those cool Fall nights and the crisp sunny days.
It is a super rich saturate color!   It kind of made this very simple styled dresser special in my opinion.  Well that and those drawer pulls!
I mean, those are pretty special too, right?  Yes, they are, and I so love it when the original hardware can be kept with a piece.  This dresser, as many of these do, had a lot of texture in the old finish.  I suspect that storage in a hot garage or shed causes much of this.  I wet distressed and took advantage of it to give it a shabbied up look.

Oh, and in case you are interested in creating your own Pumpkin piece.  You use APC's Orange Grove in a roughly 5:1to 6:1 ratio with Saddle.    It really depends on how light or dark you want it.  I just mixed enough to cover my piece without having to recreate it, but I promise that when I make it again I will let you know an exact measurement.  You can bet I'm looking for new pieces to use it on!

I have both Orange Grove and Saddle currently in stock at The Brass Armadillo in Omaha.  My booth is on Montana Avenue. Booth 208.  There is also a flyer about upcoming paint classes and tips for painting with Chalk/Clay based paints in the booth!  Stop by and check it out!!

Have a fabulous week!

American Paint Company

About a year ago I ordered my first cans of Chalk, Clay, & Mineral Based paints from American Paint Company.  I loved that it was all natural, zero VOC, solvent free, and eco friendly.  It is a creamy rich paint that requires no priming or sanding, adheres beautifully, and gives you so many finish options.  Since their roll out to the DIY market they have added many new colors, mica powders, glazes, wax options (no odor, thank you!), grit, and a great water based top coat.  I found myself using it more and more and finally decided that I'd love nothing more than to help others use this paint!

I have officially become an authorized American Paint Company Dealer, and the paints will be available locally very soon at The Brass Armadillo Antique Mall in Omaha, NE!!!  I hope to help the folks in Eastern NE and Western IA with their DIY paint projects with a full selection of colors and finishes.

Here is a nice sampling of their colors, though I wish it had been sunny enough to get some natural light photos for you.  Everything from a beautiful Navy to a soft sunny sky blue, shown with both clear and dark wax.

How about some nice pops of color for a special piece?

More than enough neutrals to please everyone and every piece.  These are just a few of my sample boards.  I'm furiously working to paint up samples, furniture, and a new display cabinet to showcase to feature many of these colors so that customers can see it and feel it.  Workshops in different techniques will be offered beginning this summer.  And the booth itself should be ready to go by the end of May, or as soon as we can get in and decorate and set up.   Feel free to contact me for more information in the meantime.  I look forward to a long and happy relationship with you and the American Paint Company family!  We are going to Restyle, Reuse, and Repurpose with this fabulous paint!

Check back here frequently for updates on the exact date the booth is ready to go, and look for me on "Montana Ave" at The Brass Armadillo on Sapp Drive, Omaha, NE!

Have a great week!
